Christmas Celebrations

Harri recently attended the 4KQ Golden Casket Variety Special Children's Christmas Party. A very special day. We had fun on the Variety Liberty Swing and meeting Starwars Characters.

Looking over the army vehicles and police display.

Later that afternoon we went with some cousins to the Bracken Ridge Community Christmas Carols. it was a good night, capped off with fireworks. Each year the carols are getting better and better. This years was the best so far. A lot of work went into the event.

Cheers for now

Amazing technology

While researching advancements in BCI technology (Brain Computer Interfacing), I came across this company Emotiv. Research based in Sydney and sales and marketing in San Francisco.
They have developed a universal head set that reads your brain waves and can link these responses to a computer. While heavily angled towards virtual gaming, if their product takes off it could finance further research into communication for the disabled.
There is an independent developer who is working closely with this company to develop a virtual keyboard. That is keyboard functions just using your thoughts. I have seen demo's of their product in a gaming situation, where the player was able to pick up or push objects, just by thinking about picking them up or pushing them.

The future is very positive for those who are suffering from disabilities.
Stay positive.

Recovery is still a hope

After our recent review in Sydney, of Harri's ABR program, and an encouraging report. We still hold hope for a sustainable recovery from his brain injury, without the need for intervention surgery.
Although walking is still some way off for Harri, he has achieved some important milestones in his physical abilities. Despite being new comers to the ABR program, we are happy to report, we
are already seeing results in Harri's progress. We are very happy that we have found ABR and hope that other families with loved ones suffering from cerebral palsy or other brain injuries and spinal injuries, find out about this new treatment, and also help them recover from their ailments.
